Kian Meng began as a singles player, groomed within Malaysia's national badminton system. For years, he was the designated sparring partner to Datuk Lee Chong Wei — Olympic silver medallist, former World No.1 — shadowing him through daily practice at the very top of the sport.
At twenty, he transitioned to doubles. Partnering Lai Pei Jing for nearly a decade, he reached a career-high World No. 5 in mixed doubles, winning the 2022 Korea Open, 2022 Commonwealth Games Gold, 2017 Malaysia Masters, and multiple other international titles.
Since 2025, he has served as Head Coach of Doubles for the England National Team. BWF Level 2 Certified. Based in London, he offers private coaching and intensive camps to serious players.

20 岁后转型双打与混双,与搭档赖沛君合作近十年,混双世界排名最高达第 5 位,赢得 2022 年韩国公开赛、英联邦运动会混合团体金牌等多项国际冠军。
现任英格兰国家队双打主教练,BWF 二级教练认证。常驻伦敦,面向认真的球员提供私教与集训。
